Why do you follow fashion trends?

Why do you want to follow fashion trends and be in style? Explain please. I've been fascinated with people's minds and would like to know.

i don't follow the trends. if i find something that looks good on me, i wear it. if it doesn't look good on me, i don't. =D
because its whats "in" and usually when you go to buy clothes its everywhere in the store...me personally ill follow the trends that are cute because they are cute, not because they are trends, but the ugly ones i am not going to follow even if it makes me "uncool"
Because we've been raised by in a society where you can only become prominent or powerful only upon the support of others so therefore logically you follow the trend. Instead of necessarily positions of power, or the cult following a celebrity develops, you do it for popularity and to be considered the norm. One goal everyone has in life is too be accepted and following fashion trends is another way of doing so. I'm not dissing trends I actually like them very much, I'm been on the prep train ever sense they started coming back the past couple of years. But that was only because I personally thought it looked good, otherwise some of the new fashion trends always seem rediculous.
Hm. I like to stay 'in'. But I'm mainly concerned about if my clothes are getting warn out and variety of different stuff. You can pretty much only buy stuff in the juniors department these days that are 'in. I like alot of the stuff that is so-called in right now. I just go though and pick out peices that I like and that is that.

it just happens that I like them clothes that aren't trendy are not in the stores, so if you do shop regularly, you are just going to come to like and buy trendy things
I dont so much "follow" but if something becomes popular and its sooo cute and I love it, Ill buy it because thats what is being sold in stores. I like to be inspired by designers and make my own clothes though.
i wear what i like, and when i like. always did, always will. i like nice clothes, be it a shirt from the 1970s or this years AE polo. if i like something, i'll wear it. if i don't, i won't even look at it. i feel that the truth lies in aesthetics -- which includes your taste in clothing.whatever your style, do it well or dont do it at all, be guided by personal taste, not price. some of the ugliest things i've seen on the market can be some of the most expensive. what bothers me most are people who carry themselves as slobs (in clothing, thought, manners and otherwise), at least certain fashion trends help define a standard for those who have little imagination and cannot define themselves. appologies for the rant -- m.
well i like shopping at forever21 wetseal american eagle and abercrombie its trendy prep i love it and i think its cute i dont follow trends straight off the runway i just buy whats at stores
When I go shopping I look for clothes that are comfortable, and look good on me. If it's in the store it's trendy. But I will wear what I buy for as long as it fits, and is in good condition, even if it goes out of style. I tend to stick to classic styles anyway.
