what is the primary difference between capri and peddle pushers pants for the ladies?

  1. I'm pretty sure they are almost the same thing, except peddle pushers are longer with a different kind of shape, like wider, and capri's are short pants that hug your legs. Peddle Pushers are more old fashioned too.
  2. I don't think there is any difference except that peddle pushers was the word we used in the 50's & 60's... and they are now called capri pants. P.S. I think it was "pedal" rather than "peddle" -- and I think they were called that because we wore them when we pedaled our bikes. Here's a picture of some I was wearing in 1956 at the age of 5 when we visited Graceland. I'm the one blowing a bubble. http://photos.imageevent.com/mia2kl/picsngifs/websize/Graceland1956-3.jpg
  3. i don't know if there really is a difference. in the old days they were called pedal pushers according to my mother. i think capri is a relatively new term. however, i notice that most capri pants have more of a loose fit, whereas what i would call a pedal pusher has a snugger fit. the length may also be different but then that's comparing the difference between a hoop skirt and a mini skirt. they're both skirts regardless. i think the origins of pedal pushers comes from the act of rolling up ones pant leg on the side of the bike that has the chain in order to prevent the pant leg from being caught in the bike chain. instead of rolling the pant, they eventually opted to cut it without making a short pant.
  4. In the UK,capri pants are longer. They're just above ankle length. And peddle pushers are just over the knee in length x
