Howcome when they say that you have to dress atire? The ladies wear dress pants or skirts and the guys?

Wears some comfortable clothes like blue jeans majority. The guys dont have to dress up but the lady automatically has to dress up? Why is that?

1. Because women don't like to be the only one dressed less casually then the others. They like to make a good impression and dress nice, whereas men just don't care :)
2. guys sooo should not wear jeans but dress pants it is sooo unfair, if anything guys should have to dress up more.
3. Definition of attire- clothes or apparel, esp. rich or splendid garments. Men would wear a suit.
4. proper etiquette would require men to wear suits an women wear dresses skirts or dress slacks.

6. I disagree. The problem is that most guys and gals don't follow "dress attire". I see plenty of girls wearing denim miniskirts - and I hardly call that dress attire. At the same time, I see guys wearing no collared shirts - again not dress attire. We've taken casual dress to an extreme in the U.S. - so what you are seeing is the fallout.
