Fashion trends in America?

I'm doing a presentation on Fashion trends. I'm comparing the trends that are modern (today) with what was popular back in the day ("old school"). Can anyone show me some links or opinions on what is popular today and what was popular back then? Fashion trends for both males and females. Thanks.
